How I can help
People seek therapy when they are dissatisfied or unhappy and feel that it is possible to make changes but this is very difficult alone. Psychotherapy is a particular type of conversation exploring thoughts, feelings and relationships. Psychotherapy offers the opportunity to think about what is troubling in a safe setting to understand and improve relationships, both with ourselves and others. My thinking and approach places relationships at the heart of experience. When patterns in relationships can be understood we can feel liberated to change.

About me
My working life in therapeutic care spans 30 years. My experience includes working and managing therapeutic communities as alternative treatments to inpatient psychiatric care and working with young adults in University counselling. I have extensive experience helping those in acute states of distress towards a better way of living.
I offer both time-limited and open-ended therapy. Time limited therapy may focus on a particular issue or event. Longer term work can help deeper seated issues rooted in early life. I offer an initial consultation followed by a session a week later. This is an opportunity to think together and have some time for reflection before deciding the way forward.
