How I can help

If you need to speak to someone, I’m a qualified, experienced therapist and counsellor with practices in Hackney and Marylebone. People reach out for many different reasons – it might be depression, anxiety, addictive or compulsive behaviour, trauma, loss, relationship or family problems. Sometimes people need to make sense of one particular event or crisis, such as a bereavement, but often what brings them to therapy can be a feeling of hopelessness, despair or sadness that they can’t make sense of alone. Or it could be that they feel stuck – in life or relationships. I see clients in person and via Zoom.

About me

I’m a fully-qualified psychodynamic psychotherapist. I’m a member of two professional bodies with a high bar – the BPC (British Psychoanalytic Council) and the FPC (Foundation for Psychotherapy and Counselling) – that tells you I am properly accredited in a field that is sometimes tricky to navigate. My training was at WPF, generally acknowledged as one of the foremost and rigorous institutions in the UK. Therapy is a constantly shifting field, so I keep up-to-date with latest developments and new approaches to therapy.

I work with a wide range of people. As a therapist for the mental health charity, Mind, I have worked with those from different social, cultural and ethnic backgrounds across a wide spectrum of mental health issues. I welcome this in my private practice – as well as clients of all ages – and also those who are new to therapy or are unsure about the whole idea. For two decades now I’ve worked with those with alcohol and drug problems and can support any 12-Step Programme.

My previous career was as a writer and editor. My first degree was in art and design so I have experience of the creative and media industries and understand that your therapy has to work in the world outside the therapy room. I have worked as a creative coach and also as a therapist at the Royal College of Art. I write about aspects of therapy for national newspapers covering subjects such as anxiety, happiness, the menopause, family dynamics and the impact of drug and alcohol addiction.
