How I can help
How Individual Therapy Can Help Individual therapy offers a confidential space where you can slow down, reflect, and make sense of what you’re experiencing. Many people seek therapy when they feel overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure how to move forward. Working with a trained professional can help you: • Understand the roots of difficult feelings or patterns • Develop healthier ways of coping with stress, anxiety, or low mood • Explore how past experiences may be influencing your present • Build confidence, self‑awareness, and emotional resilience • Make meaningful changes in behaviour, relationships, or thinking styles.

About me
’m Lowina Simms, a Chartered Counselling Psychologist based in London and the founder of Simms Psychological Services. My work is rooted in empathy, respect, and a genuine commitment to helping people understand themselves more deeply. I believe therapy should feel safe, collaborative, and tailored to the individual — never rushed, never pressured, always grounded in your pace and your needs.
I am registered with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) and chartered with the British Psychological Society (BPS), ensuring that my practice meets the highest standards of professional and ethical care.
I have over 20 years clinical experience and have worked across the NHS, private practice, private health care including The Priory Hospital, community services, and multidisciplinary teams, supporting adults with a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties.
I provide individual and group therapy, corporate training and psychological workshops. I also provide supervision to trainee counselling and clinical psychologists.
My therapeutic approach is integrative, drawing on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, and Person‑Centred principles. This allows me to adapt the work to suit you — whether you’re looking to understand longstanding patterns, develop new coping strategies, or make sense of a difficult period in your life. At the heart of my work is the therapeutic relationship. I aim to create a space where you feel heard, understood, and able to explore your experiences without judgement. Together, we reflect on how you relate to yourself and others, and we think about the changes that might help you move toward a more balanced and fulfilling life.
Alongside my clinical work, I manage the operational and developmental aspects of Simms Psychological Services, including practitioner partnerships, service delivery, and the design of group and corporate workshops. These workshops focus on wellbeing, communication, leadership, and emotional resilience — supporting both individuals and organisations to thrive.
Whether you are seeking therapy for the first time or returning after a break, my aim is to offer a thoughtful, compassionate, and professional space where meaningful change can take place.
