How I can help

I work with people who struggle with relationships despite being successful in other areas of life. Some find it difficult to move beyond dating, while others feel lost in committed relationships and don’t know what to do next. Others find themselves feeling hurt, let down or misunderstood in their family relationships or even with friends. Some people also feel that the way they feel about themselves doesn’t match how others see them. Our work will focus on understanding the patterns that shape your relationships, the way you relate to others, and the way you feel about yourself.

About me

I’ve been providing psychotherapy for over 15 years. My approach is relational, integrative and psychodynamically based. Alongside my clinical practice, I teach integrative psychotherapy and provide clinical supervision.

I believe that our experiences of ourselves are shaped through our relationships with others and the broader context in which we develop and live. Our families and wider social environments all influence how we experience ourselves and others. From an early age, we learn what is expected of us, which feelings and ways of being in the world are welcomed and which are better kept hidden. These adaptations often help us succeed and cope, but they can also leave us feeling disconnected from ourselves or struggling in close relationships.

Therapy offers the opportunity to understand how these patterns developed, whether they still serve you, and where you may want to expand your repertoire of ways of relating to yourself and others.

Our work will focus on the influence these patterns continue to have on your life and relationships, while helping you develop greater flexibility in responding to yourself and others.

I am a Counselling Psychologist registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and an Integrative and Relational Psychotherapist registered with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP).
