PhoneHi, I’m Mike. I’m 53, Father of 2 adult kids and a cat called Gary. My background is in the Hotel & Catering Industry, I’ve run various Pubs, Clubs, and Hotels and even travelled the world working on a Cruise Liner. Having this background gave me many insights into myself and others. I learnt that I enjoy helping being and service to others. People have always found me very easy to talk to (especially after they’ve had a few drinks!)
I’ve always been interested in Human Nature, psychology, behaviour, and motivation. I really enjoy trying to understand what it is about each individual that make us so uniquely different from one another. I’ve had my own challenges in life, and made my fair share of mistakes before understanding why I would repeat the same patterns. All of these, along with my training have helped me to support and empathise with others.
I have a great passion for music. I love going to concerts and festivals with friends and family, and I play rhythm guitar for a rock and indie covers pub band. I believe in making the most of the cards we’ve been dealt, and striving to live a fulfilled life, full of adventure, joy, love, and peace.

I’ve been counselling individuals and couples, from 18 to 88, with a diverse range of backgrounds, challenges and needs. I served my initial client hours working for Mind UK whilst training to become a qualified counsellor, and on completion of training I set up my own private practice, which I have been running now for over 8 years. I like to work with a range of issues from Anxiety, Depression, Bereavement, Stress, Self-Esteem, Trauma, this keeps the work interesting, challenging and keeps me on my toes. I continue to enjoy learning about human psychology, behaviour and mental health, which I find both intriguing and helpful in my work.
