About me

I am Practitioner Psychologist registered with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) and a Chartered Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society (AFBPsS).

I have recently left my NHS role to practice privately. I have an online private practice offering personal therapy via Skype, GoogleChat or Whatsapp. I also work as an Associate Practitioner for London Bridge Therapy one day a week.

My areas of interest include life span development, attachment & loss, intergenerational coping strategies and psychological trauma. I have a lot of experience in working with clients who have complex trauma in addition to long term health conditions including HIV, chronic fatigue, FND amongst others. Complex trauma is never one PTSD issue but often involves substance misuse, relationship difficulties, homelessness, stigma and loss.

I am interested in social stigmas and the social construction of our lives, including culture, religion, and gender roles in society. I am sure some of what I am interested in comes from my own upbringing and life experiences and this helps me to work relationally with an awareness of myself, and my own being when with clients. I believe in a compassionate self and for my clients to connect with their own compassionate self, we are all important and all of our life experiences are valid. I think mindfulness and being in the moment helps especially with ruminating thoughts and noticing those parts of us that get triggered in certain situations. I am EMDR trained and Internal Family Systems trained.
Specialities: Bereavement counselling, substance use, motivational interviewing, attachment disorders, depression/anxiety, long term health conditions including FND, , HIV and ME/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, staff counselling & harassment work, perinatal depression and adjustment problems experienced by new parents.
As an EMDR Therapist I also have training in attachment focused EMDR plus trauma focused CBT and Expert Witness training for the courts. I have volunteered for Medical Justice, writing reports on individuals detained by the home office and support asylum seekers accessing NHS care.
