About me
Adele works in a warm, sensitive and thoughtful way to understand the individual experiences, difficulties and emotional resources of those she works with. She applies her broad training and experience in psychoanalysis, neuroscience and psychology to collaboratively identify and address the issues that are impacting on mood, quality of life and relationships with others.
Adele has worked with children and families for over 20 years, including clinical and leadership positions within the NHS and in many mainstream and specialist schools.
She completed her clinical training at the Tavistock and Portman NHS Trust, with a placement in the NHS Child and Adolescent Mental Health (CAMHS) in West London and specialised in Neurodevelopmental and Adolescent services.
After qualifying she became Lead Therapist of five primary schools, as part of the Tavistock Outreach in Primary Schools Project. She also worked in a specialist LAC CAMHS team in West London, for children in foster care under the borough of West London, working with children with particularly complex needs. During this time, Adele was also a Visiting Lecturer and tutor for Postgraduate courses at the Tavistock and Portman NHS Trust.
She quickly became the team lead for this specialist LAC CAMHS team, running and developing this service to best support children in foster care throughout the COVID 19 pandemic.
Through her clinical and leadership work, she has worked closely with professionals at every level of the NHS and social care in treatment, planning and policy for children’s mental health. She has also developed her private practice; working clinically with children, parents, carers and families. This has included supervising clinicians of various disciplines and providing consultation to charities, mental health and social care services.
