About me
I’m Dr Andrea Firth (PhD), a Chartered Sport & Exercise Psychologist and Chartered Coaching Psychologist registered with the British Psychological Society, HCPC and level 4 counsellor. I specialise in performance under pressure, working across elite sport, performing arts and corporate settings to improve focus, manage anxiety, build resilience and strengthen communication. My practice is evidence-informed and holistic, drawing on CBT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), EMDR and mindfulness to support lasting change.
In my capacity as a performance psychologist, I have worked with elite organisations including Leeds United (English Premier League), Manchester Cricket, Tennis Australia, and at the Beijing Olympics, and I currently work with the Canada Men’s National Team—part of their historic run at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. I am former senior lecturer at Greenwich University and Assistant Dean of Learning & Development and currently Programme Leader and Senior Lecturer for the University Campus Football Business BSc Sport Psychology course. I hold an MSc from Brunel University (Hounslow, UK) and a PhD from Johannes Gutenberg University (Mainz, Germany). I believe in helping people reach their potential whether they are elite, sub-elite or recreational performers
