Training, qualifications & experience
I had a 20-year career in the police where I specialised in child protection and supporting victims of sexual abuse. I then decided to build on my experience of supporting survivors of child abuse and historic & recent sexual abuse, by training to be a counsellor.
I have a level 4 and a level 5 diploma in therapeutic counselling and am a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy).
I have a BSc in Law and Languages and qualified as a solicitor before joining the Police.

About me
I know how hard it is to wake up in the morning with a feeling of low-level dread before you even get out of bed, wondering why you find it so hard when you used to be able to do so much more.
Maybe you’re fed up of being the one everyone turns to for help, but not having anyone who will listen to you and understand what you’re saying.
You could be on the edge of a life transition, where the future looks scary and you seem to have lost your sense of identity, unsure what is next and how to cope with this uncertain future.
If you’re feeling broken inside, and barely managing day to day, I can help you find the tools to find yourself again and build your self-esteem.
If any of this sounds familiar, get in touch today and let’s talk about how we can make things more manageable, together.
How I Work
As your counsellor, I’ll listen to you with empathy and without judgement, helping you understand what you’re going through and explore the way forward that feels right for you.
I know that reaching out isn’t easy, so I offer a free introductory call — a chance to get a feel for what counselling with me would be like, and see if it feels like the right fit.
I believe you’re the expert in your own life. My aim is to help you find the answers that are right for you — by listening without judgement, and gently helping you explore your thought patterns and any past experiences that may still be affecting you. Together, we can uncover where you’d like to be, and the best way to get you there.
We’ll go at your pace, and you never have to talk about anything before you’re ready.
Working together, I can help you gain greater insight into the difficulties you’re facing, understand why you react to them the way you do, and start making healthier choices moving forward.
