About me

Hi, I’m Carly, founder of Mira Counselling. I support individuals and couples through anxiety, stress and burnout, grief and loss, relationship difficulties, and the changes and challenges that can come with mid-life and menopause.

I believe meaningful support begins with real conversation. Life can be complex, overwhelming and, at times, deeply painful. Whether you’re struggling personally, feeling stuck in your relationship, or trying to find your way through a difficult period of change, you don’t have to face it alone.

I bring a grounded, real-world perspective to my work. Having spent many years in high-pressure corporate environments, I understand the kind of stress that doesn’t always have a name, the exhaustion that goes beyond being tired, the pressure to keep going while quietly struggling underneath, and the challenges that can come with leadership, career changes and carrying responsibility for others.

Alongside my private practice, I work within a women’s charity, supporting people through grief and loss, relationship endings, changes in identity and significant life changes, including perimenopause.

I also work with couples who may be struggling with communication, feeling disconnected, facing a difficult period together, or simply wanting to understand each other better. Counselling can offer a space to slow things down, talk openly and be heard, without blame or judgement.

My approach is relaxed, collaborative and genuinely human. Sessions are shaped around you, because no two people, relationships or experiences are the same. There is space for honest conversations, difficult feelings and, when it feels right, moments of lightness too.

Starting counselling can feel like a big step. That’s why I offer a free, no-obligation call, giving you the chance to get a sense of how I work and decide whether it feels like the right fit for you.
