About me

I have experience working as a therapist in low-cost community counselling services, supporting clients from a wide range of backgrounds and with diverse experiences. I continue to engage in ongoing training as part of my professional development, and I have regular one-to-one and peer supervision to ensure my work remains ethical, reflective and supported.

Alongside six years of training, my own experience of long-term therapy has been central to my development as a therapist. Having sat in the client’s chair, I understand first-hand what this process can feel like. I believe it is important to have engaged in this depth of personal work before inviting others to do the same.

Before becoming a therapist, I worked for over a decade in the independent film industry. I continue to hold a deep interest in arts and culture, and have a particular awareness of the challenges that can arise for those working in creative fields.

MY APPROACH

I work in an integrative and relational way. This means I draw on different therapeutic approaches depending on what feels most helpful for you, and that I pay particular attention to how you relate to yourself, to others, and to me within the therapeutic relationship.

By exploring this together in a safe and confidential space, we may begin to notice patterns, develop new ways of relating, and move towards a way of being that feels more supportive and authentic.

My work is informed by psychodynamic and humanistic traditions, alongside a somatic awareness of how experiences are held in the body. This might include gently exploring:
– thoughts, feelings and relational patterns
– how past experiences continue to shape the present
– sensations, emotions and bodily responses
– what emerges between us in the therapeutic relationship

Together, this can support a deeper connection to yourself, and a greater capacity to understand and hold your experience.
