About me

As a Clinical Psychologist, my approach is collaborative and tailored to your individual needs and goals. I draw on a range of evidence based models including EMDR, Schema-focused therapy, narrative exposure therapy and systemic approaches. This integrative way of working allows me to adapt therapy to the specific difficulties you are experiencing and find a pace that will work for you.

Our best evidence suggests that change happens in the context of a trusting therapeutic relationship. This means that it is important that the people I work with feel comfortable to be open without the fear of judgment. A trusting therapeutic relationship can enable us to work towards real change through exploring the impact of relationships, past experiences as well as the impact of existing in wider cultural and socio-political systems.

If you would like to consider therapy with me, I offer an initial telephone consultation (free of charge) to decide if you would like to go ahead with an assessment for therapy. In the assessment, we will work to develop an understanding the difficulties that you are experiencing (which might include problems in relationships, feelings of emptiness or low self-worth, feelings of anxiety or distress and/or flashbacks/nightmares and responses to trauma) and how these make sense in the context of your previous experiences and relational history.

As a Clinical Psychologist, I am registered with the Health Care Professionals Council (HCPC) and practice in accordance with the HCPC and the British Psychological Society.

Summary of Experience

I am a Clinical Psychologist with over a decade of experience working in the NHS and private practice. I have worked in the NHS since 2011, providing assessment and treatment for adults, young people and families experiencing a wide range of mental health difficulties as a result of experiences of trauma. Alongside working in the NHS, I have been in private practice since 2017, where I specialise in trauma-focused therapy. Since qualifying, I have completed a number of specialist trainings including EMDR, CBT, NET and Schema-focussed Therapy. I draw on these to provide tailored and individual therapy. I work with individuals who have experienced single-incident trauma, such as accidents and assaults, as well as complex trauma, including childhood abuse, neglect, domestic violence, discrimination and other experiences that can lead to complex PTSD.
