I’m Nilima, a therapist who believes therapy works best when it’s human, honest, and allowed to be a little curious. I offer a warm, non-judgemental space where you can bring the complicated, contradictory, and not-quite-finished parts of yourself.
Before training as a psychotherapist, I worked as a journalist and editor in national media and specialist publications, and later in private equity, funding my therapy training. That path shaped how I listen, how I think about stories and power, and how comfortable I am with complexity, pressure, and difference.
Outside the therapy room, I enjoy films, reading, and running, and I co-host a science fiction podcast. I’m interested in how people make meaning, how relationships evolve, and how change happens over time — themes that turn up as much in good sci-fi as they do in therapy.
MSc in Contemporary Person-Centred Psychotherapy and Applications
I’m a UKCP-registered Person-Centred Psychotherapist with experience across psychiatric half-way houses, NHS services, low-cost counselling centres and private practice. Alongside individual therapy, I work with people in relationship psychotherapy, supporting couples and relational pairings who want to understand patterns, improve communication, or navigate change together. This includes romantic partners, friends, family members, and other meaningful relationships — not just traditional couples. My work focuses on the therapeutic relationship as the primary agent of change, creating a space where each person feels heard, respected, and able to speak honestly. I hold complexity, difference and conflict with care, helping clients explore how they relate to themselves and to others, and what they want their relationships to become.
