I know that we have so much going on in our lives that scrolling through multiple therapists on here can feel too much especially when we already feel we are struggling so I want to say well done for prioritising yourself.
I’ve tried to make this as easy to read as possible.
I work with both adults, young people and children in person in Wimbledon and online with adults.
How you might be feeling?
Anxious – It could feel like your replaying conversations in your head over and over again. You might worry about what you can and can’t say to people because you don’t want to upset them.
Low mood -Feeling sad and unable to find the joy in things you used too.
Overwhelmed- Often we can’t even pinpoint what is making us feel those difficult feelings.
Bottling feelings up and then finding it all comes out at the people you care about.
Work or school stress- the expectations of others and often our own internal pressure can feel like nothing we ever do is enough.
Like your problems aren’t big enough to get help. It can be hard to feel like what is happening for you is important when so much terrible things have been going on in the world.
Worried about your child or teenager who is acting aggressively towards their siblings/ friends/ you. They might be withdrawing from you or maybe you’ve been through a change in the family that your child is struggling with like a divorce, new baby or changing school.
Having been diagnosed and struggling to come to terms with it. Often being diagnosed with a condition like ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia, Chronic Fatigue, Fibromyalgia can take such a long time and feel like an uphill battle having to argue to be taken seriously. So, when you finally get your diagnosis it can make you feel so many different emotions from joy that you finally know why you are the way you are, annoyance and that other people don’t understand or belittle your condition, underwhelmed that now you know nothing else will be done, sadness and a sense of it being unfair that you are the person who has to deal with this condition.
How can I help?
My aim as a counsellor is to help you understand what is going on for you. We can explore why and what you might be feeling this way and in a safe environment.
Having someone to talk to about what’s happening in your life, who doesn’t know anyone you know and who you don’t need to worry about upsetting can feel strange but freeing and can mean your able to be more present in your life with those you care about.
I value empathy, curiosity and humour and try to portray that in sessions.
Who am I?
I have experience in working with people with anxiety, low self- esteem, work and relationship problems, parental problems both in the past or present and trauma.
I work hard to provide a space where you can be open and honest with me. I believe that you need to be able to feel understood and accepted for the person you are not the person you think people want you to be, so I strive to provide that experience.
My initial training was in psychodynamic counselling where we look at your history and try and find links to how those relationship patterns repeat in your current life. I also use aspects of solution focused therapy and cognitive behavioural skills where we focus more on the future and what you want to achieve if you’re not ready to delve into your past. This is something we can discuss during the initial session.
