About me

I pride myself in offering spaces that are safe, relational – where grief is deeply held. My approach is compassionate and gentle, always with a soft focus on emotional safety and trust.

Art materials are central to my practice. In times of grief, especially traumatic grief, words may feel difficult to reach or insufficient in their depth. Working with images, colour and form can help express feelings that are hard to say out loud. The materials provide a contained and manageable way to explore overwhelming experiences, supporting reflection and understanding at a pace that feels right.

At The Small Studio, I work closely with each client, recognising and respecting that every loss is unique. Whether grief is recent or longstanding, my practice is deeply relational.

Summary of Experience

I am an HCPC-registered Art Psychotherapist and founder of The Small Studio. I specialise in working with bereavement, grief and loss, supporting children, young people and adults. My experience includes various NHS services, community organisations and dedicated bereavement services. I have a further specialism in working with traumatically bereaved clients, including sudden, unexpected or violent deaths. Traumatic grief often brings shock, distress and trauma responses alongside deep loss. My work is always trauma-informed and offers a gentle and carefully held space to process these experiences, at a manageable pace.
