What therapy costs in Clapham

What Clapham therapists work with

All six list depression, five list anxiety, and four each list trauma, relationship problems and bereavement. Choose a difficulty in the filter below to see only those who work with it. We also have pages on couples therapy in Clapham, grief counselling in Clapham and trauma therapy in Clapham. However different their methods, what tends to matter most is how you feel with the person, so it is worth having a first conversation with one or two before deciding.

Getting there

Clapham North, Clapham Common and Clapham South are on the Northern line, and Clapham High Street is on the Overground. Balham, one stop south of Clapham South, also has Southern trains. Buses run along Clapham High Street, Clapham Road and Balham Hill. If you need step-free access, ask the therapist before your first session.

Free therapy on the NHS: Lambeth Talking Therapies

Most of Clapham is in Lambeth. If you are an adult who lives in Lambeth or is registered with a Lambeth GP, you can refer yourself to Lambeth Talking Therapies, the free NHS service run by South London and Maudsley, online at lambethtalkingtherapies.nhs.uk or by calling 020 3228 6747. The Clapham South and Balham side is in Wandsworth, which has its own Talking Therapies service. These offer short, structured therapy for common problems such as anxiety and depression. If you would like longer-term therapy, or to choose your own therapist, private therapy is the other route.

If you need urgent help, call NHS 111 and choose the mental health option, or call 999 in an emergency.
